GoGira Content & Community Guidelines

GoGira Data & Trust Commitment

GoGira does not permit hidden tracking, data harvesting, or off-platform data exploitation.

Users control what they share, who they connect with, and how they are contacted.

1) Core Conduct

• Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, stalking, hateful, or demeaning conduct.
• Be honest. No impersonation or misrepresentation.
• Protect privacy. Do not post or request others' personal data (e.g., home address, phone, school IDs, government IDs, SSNs, financial account numbers), and do not dox anyone.
• Use your own account only. Do not share or sell your account or credentials.

2) Prohibited Content & Activities

The following are not allowed and may result in removal, restrictions, or account termination:

3) Minor Safety (Ages 13-17)

• No romantic or sexual messaging with minors.
• No requests for photos or videos that could be sexualized.
• No collection of unnecessary personal details (e.g., exact home address, schedules).
• No off-platform contact pushes for sensitive topics.

Schools and partners must:

• Ensure content is age-appropriate.
• Avoid high-pressure tactics.
• Disclose sponsored or promotional content.

4) Schools, Partners & Ambassadors - Posting Standards

• Claims must be truthful and substantiated. No guarantees.
• Disclose sponsorships or paid relationships.
• No discriminatory targeting.
• No solicitation of sensitive data outside approved workflows.
• No unrelated promotions (e.g., crypto, ecommerce, political fundraising).

Data Responsibility

• Use student information only as permitted under GoGira's Terms of Use.
• Do not build independent databases, profiles, or marketing audiences from GoGira data beyond the scope of the student-initiated connection and related workflow.

5) Messaging & Interactions

GoGira is designed to support meaningful, student-directed relationships between students and institutions or organizations.

• Keep communication relevant to education, careers, and financial aid.
• No spam or repetitive outreach; honor opt-outs.

Off-Platform Communication Rules

• Do not attempt to move conversations off-platform for the purpose of collecting additional personal data or bypassing GoGira's protections.
• Once a student has explicitly connected with a school, institution, or partner through GoGira, recipients may engage with that student both on-platform and off-platform, consistent with the student's selected communication preferences.
• Off-platform communication (including email, SMS, in-app notifications, push notifications, or physical mail) is permitted only where the student has explicitly connected and selected or consented to those communication methods.

Permitted Outreach

Such communication may include outreach intended to:

• provide information about programs, campus life, teams, or opportunities;
• invite participation in events, visits, or recruitment activities;
• support the student's exploration, application, or decision-making process.

Communication Requirements

All communication must:

• align with the student's stated preferences;
• relate to the purpose of the student-initiated connection;
• comply with applicable laws (including consent and opt-out requirements).
• Users may Block or Mute accounts to stop contact.

6) Intellectual Property & Credits

• Post only content you own or are authorized to use.
• Credit sources appropriately.

7) Reporting, Moderation & Appeals

• Report tools are available on every post and profile.
• We acknowledge reports within 24 hours.
• Actions may include removal, restrictions, suspension, or termination.
• Appeals are available.

Data Misuse Enforcement

We may take action, including restriction, suspension, or termination, where users, institutions, or partners:

• misuse student data;
• attempt unauthorized tracking;
• violate data-use restrictions.

8) Accessibility & Quality

• Use clear, professional language.
• Provide captions or subtitles for educational content.
• Share high-quality, age-appropriate visuals.

9) Enforcement Scope

We may remove or restrict content or accounts at any time to:

• protect users;
• comply with law;
• enforce these Guidelines and our Terms.

10) Updates

We may update these Guidelines to reflect new risks, features, or laws. Continued use of GoGira means acceptance of the updated Guidelines.

11) Data Use & Privacy Conduct

GoGira is built on student-directed data sharing and strict limits on how information may be used.

Permitted Use

• Use student information only for the specific educational, career, or financial-aid purpose for which it was shared.
• Where a student has explicitly connected with a school, institution, or partner through GoGira, the recipient may:
  • download, store, and manage that student's information in its CRM or internal systems;
  • use that information to support admissions, recruitment, advising, scholarship, internship, or related outreach workflows;
  • retain and use such information consistent with the applicable workflow, institutional policies, and applicable law.
• contact students off-platform (including email, SMS, push notifications, or physical mail) only where the student has explicitly connected and selected or consented to those communication methods.

All use must:

• align with the student's stated preferences;
• relate to the purpose for which the student connected;
• comply with applicable laws (including consent and opt-out requirements).
• Access to student data through GoGira does not grant unrestricted rights to reuse, resell, or repurpose that data beyond the scope of the student-initiated connection and related workflow.
• Connected student data may be treated as a prospective student or applicant record within the recipient's internal systems, subject to these Guidelines, the Terms of Use, and applicable law.

Prohibited Data Practices

You may NOT:

• collect, export, reuse, or repurpose student data beyond the scope of the student-initiated connection and its related workflow;
• use student data for unrelated marketing, lead generation, or audience creation;
• combine GoGira data with external datasets for profiling or targeting;
• infer behavioral patterns or predictive models beyond GoGira's functionality;
• use student data for AI training or analytics systems outside GoGira;
• attempt to track or monitor users beyond platform features;
• initiate off-platform contact without student consent;
• use scripts, bots, or automated tools to extract data;

Student Control

• Students control what is shared and how they are contacted.
• Access to student data does not grant ownership or unrestricted use.

Enforcement

Violations may result in:

• content removal;
• feature restrictions;
• suspension or termination;
• legal action where applicable.
